in the Dordogne, Charente or Limousin is an excellent choice as either

Ryan air, BMI Baby, Thomson Fly and Easyjet operate services into several
regional airports in the Dordogne, Charente and Limousin regions including

La Rochelle. With the opening up of Angoulême airport in south
Charente from April 2008 onwards there will be even more choice and

The four Périgord regions that make up the Dordogne - Vert,

north the Vert bordering South Charente and Haute Vienne départments
boasts many lakes and streams, set within lush meadows and woodlands.
The Blanc stretches the width of the Dordogne and features green valleys
and limestone cliffs and forms a link between the Gironde (to the west)
and Corrèze (to the east). Bordering Lot to the south east the
Noir region offers castles and rocky outcrops in the valley of the Dordogne
River and finally the Pourpre to the south-west is the home of the famous

priced and offer good quality regional and national dishes. The famous

an amazing array of fresh local produce just waiting to be sampled.
In the south-western Dordogne, the vineyards of the Pércharment
region near Bergerac offer an excellent opportunity to sample some of
the local wine at one of the many caves.
